Jean Rodgers Foundation for Student Success is dedicated to providing financial aid, mentorship, and career development opportunities for first-generation and underserved students. Our focus is on empowering students to achieve academic and personal success by bridging the gap through scholarships and emergency grants.

In Memory
Eddie Jean Rodgers, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on August 10, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, she was a vibrant spirit who touched the lives of everyone she met.
Eddie Jean was the eldest daughter of Eddie and Irene Rodgers and grew up in a loving household as the oldest of six children. She is survived by her brothers, James and Michael, and her sisters, Mattie (deceased), Debra (deceased), and Betty. Her strong family ties shaped her, instilling the values of love, resilience, and support that she would carry throughout her life.
Eddie Jean attended Northwestern High School, where her warmth and kindness endeared her to many. After graduating, she went on to have a fulfilling career with the American Red Cross, where she dedicated many years of service before retiring in 2010. Her passion for helping others left a lasting impact on her community.
Eddie Jean was a devoted mother to her two sons, Dr. Darrell Anthony Rodgers and Dr. Christopher Allen Rodgers, who were the pride and joy of her life. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Arielle, Dajae, Khalil, and Hailey, and was delighted to be a great-grandmother to Braylen Christopher and Khadonis. She found immense joy in her family, and her legacy of love will be carried on through them.
Eddie Jean had a zest for life that was infectious, and her laughter and warmth will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel special and valued, and her caring nature touched countless lives.
